Tennessee quarterback and "maestro" Peyton Manning leads the Vols' Pride of the Southland Band in a rendition of "Rocky Top" after the No. 3 ranked Volunteers closed out Vanderbilt 17-10 at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville Nov. 29, 1997. Tennessee earned its first ever trip to the SEC Championship game to faced Auburn.

Although it’s not the *official* reveal, a Tennessee teaser video on Thursday morning gave us our first true look at the new Adidas jerseys. As it turns out, those leaks from earlier this week were legit — the modern-day updated 90s-inspired block font is back.

Tennessee had been with Nike since 2015. Before that, the Volunteers had a long relationship with Adidas, which ended on a sour note with some less than stellar designs in the early 2010s. Adidas makes their return today, knocking it out of the part by returning to an iconic look.

The thick block font is clearly a nod back to the looks of the 1990s, which so many are understandably attached to. Most people’s gripe with Nike was the move to the more modern font, which replaced the traditional look. Tennessee returns to that today.

The creative team is set to officially reveal all of the uniforms for all sports starting on July 6th next week. It will be a slow daily roll out over the following three days. New apparel is set to hit the retail shelves on July 10th.
