HIGH POINT — Southwest Guilford has selected the third class for its athletics hall of fame.

This year’s class will include: athletes LaShonda Monk (2019, girls basketball), Kameron Langley (2017, boys basketball), Brandon Banks (2012, football), Mason Schermerhorn (2005, boys tennis)and Bayly Bulkeley (1999, girls cross country/track); coaches Mike Fitzpatrick (two-time state champion girls soccer) and Guy Shavers (two-time state champion boys basketball); and longtime supporters Jeff and Holly Patton.

The induction ceremony will be Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. in the school’s Coggins Gymnasium. Guests can purchase tickets through athletic director Brindon Christman via email at [email protected], on GoFan.co under Southwest Guilford High School or by calling the front office at 336-819-2970.

ROCKERS SHUT OUT AT HAGERSTOWN

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The High Point Rockers lost 4-0 against the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars in Atlantic League baseball Wednesday at Hagerstown.

Hogan Windish doubled to highlight the Rockers (43-49 overall, 14-15 second half), who totaled just four hits. Ty Hubbard, Luke Napletown and Bryson Parks each added a hit.

Yuhi Sako took the loss, striking out four in five innings.

High Point, after wrapping up its series at Hagerstown on Thursday, will travel to Lancaster for three games Friday-Sunday. It will host rival Gastonia for a six-game set next week.
