VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — The North Vermillion boys basketball team continued its season on Wednesday with a 50-34 win over host Fountain Central in an IHSAA Class 1A sectional.
Teagan Leonard had 20 points for the Falcons, while Lane Thomann had 11 points, Andre Buchhaas had eight, Teagan Dowers had six and Graham Young added five.
Eli Foxworthy had 17 for the Mustangs, while Ayden Batchelor added 11.
The Falcons are 13-11 and will face either Riverton Parke or Attica in a sectional semifinal on Friday.
In Class 2A action on Tuesday, Seeger lost its sectional game 50-41. The Patriots end the season with a 15-9 record.
WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Lake Land 85, DACC 41
MATTOON — The Lady Jaguars' season ended on the road in an Region 24 Tournament loss to the Lakers.
Chi Igwe and Aleah Emers each had eight points for Danville Area Community College, while Jewelisa Gill and Taylor Clark each had seven, Madison Jobe had six and Alexa Jamison had five points and two assists.
The Lady Jaguars end the season with a 14-16 record.

DACC completes first meet
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — The Jaguars ended up 16th in their first action of the season at the Ron Marshall Spring Fling at Goose Pond Colony Resort.
Connor Campbell was 64th for Danville Area Community College with a score of 232 in the three-round tournament, while Josh Mathew was 78th (238), Nick Bruns was 90th (244) and Lyndon Kuryvial was 96th (247).
The Jaguars will return to action on March 23-24 at the Dan Salisbury Memorial Collegiate Invitational in Decatur.

DACC 6, Louisburg 2
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Lady Jaguars had 10 hits as they defeated Louisberg on Wednesday.
Ka'Leah Bellik had three hits with a double and three RBIs for Danville Area Community College, while Mia Herbert had two hits and an RBI and Kenzie Fasig had seven strikeouts on the mound.
After beating Louisberg and Delta College 5-1 earlier in the day, the Lady Jaguars are 17-3 and will play Shawnee Community College and Delta College today.
