Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has suggested Alisson Becker is set to return for Liverpool in Sunday's Premier League finale at home to Brentford.

Alisson has been sidelined for the past 10 games with a recurring hamstring issue that has troubled him throughout the previous three seasons.

The 33-year-old, however, has been included in Brazil's 26-man roster for the upcoming World Cup in North America, with the Selecao facing Morocco in their opening match on June 13.

When announcing the squad on Monday, Ancelotti expressed confidence the goalkeeper will be ready for the tournament and could feature for Liverpool this weekend, as per the Liverpool Echo.

"Alisson is returning from injury but has been training for two weeks," he said. "He is doing normally, he is well, and I believe he will play the next game (for Liverpool).

"Even if he doesn't play, he has the time to be 100% for the first game of the cup."

While Alisson has not yet rejoined full team training, the keeper has been working on the grass during the final phases of his rehabilitation and is nearing a comeback.

He has been unavailable for 19 matches this season due to injury or illness, alongside an anticipated absence for the two early League Cup rounds.

Alisson was out for 13 matches combined across the Premier League and UEFA Champions League last season, and has failed to register more than 28 top-flight starts in each of the past three campaigns.

Although Liverpool recently exercised their option to extend the Brazilian's contract by an additional 12 months, uncertainty persists over his long-term future at Anfield, with Juventus aggressively pursuing a transfer this summer.

Fellow stalwarts Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have already confirmed they will depart as free agents following Sunday's game against Brentford.
