When the Tennessee Titans went on the clock in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, they had two choices. Add a playmaker on defense or a playmaker on offense. Ultimately, the Titans knew that getting a weapon on the outside to help franchise quarterback Cam Ward was a higher priority and went with Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate.
Tate brings an incredible amount of production despite sharing reps with Jeremiah Smith for the past two seasons. This is a testament to his ability to get separation, fight for every route and every catch and make the absolute most of every oppotrunity.
Now Tate must step into a role with the Titans where he's not going to be asked to be the No. 1 with Calvin Ridley and Wan'Dale Robinson on the team and he is going to be able to continue to use his size and technique to win against favorable coverage and make Ward's life easier.
