Joseph Gordon-Levitt is developing with an eye to star in Warner Bros.’ remake of Little Shop of Horrors.

I love this movie and would hate to see it remade in a crappy fashion. Though I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt would make an outstanding Seymour. If I could cast anyone in this movie it would be Bryan Cranston as Orin. Having both Levitt and Cranston in the same movie would be epic on all sorts of levels.

You love the original or the remake?

The original 1960 version was a Roger Corman film and had Jonathan Haze as Seymour.

The remake was released in 1986 and was a Frank Oz film that had Rick Moranis as Seymour.

Yea, I forgot about the original. I meant the Rick Moranis one. I haven't seen the original in quite some time.

The Moranis one was a movie version of the Broadway play. The original was just another horror move from that era. There was a little known, then, but soon to be well known actor who played the part that Bill Murray reprised in the Moranis version. Who was that actor?

Wasn't it Jack Nicholson? I know the character's name changed between the two movies but I am pretty sure they were the same character.

The original was actually a comedy. The 1986 film was based off the play/musical which was based on the original film. Not too far of a stretch to say the 1986 film was in turn based on the original 1960 film.

Same character, but different names. When it was marketed for home release years later you'd have thought the original was a Nicholson film. lol
