Listing them as broadcast teams:

Baseball: Harry Kalas & Richie Ashburn
Football: John Madden & Pat Summerall/Keith Jackson for college
Basketball: Marv Albert & Hubie Brown
Hockey: Gene Hart & Gary Dornhoefer although Jim Jackson is becoming a great announcer.

My all time favorites for any sport are Kalas and Ashburn. The chemistry these 2 men had IMO make them the greatest announce team of all time. The current Phillies announce team at least on TV(radio of Scott Franzke and Larry Anderson are very good) is an insult to the memories of Kalas and Ashburn. How Gary Matthews has a job is beyond me. It amazes me that the current announce teams find it necessary to drone on and on talking about nothing and not allowing the game to do the talking. But there are many great baseball announcers I had the pleasure of listening to in my lifetime. Vin Scully, Mel Allen, Ernie Harwell, Phil Rizzuto, to name a few are legendary. For out of my market hockey announcers, I love Mike Lange of the Penguins.

Can tell you are from the Metro STL region. Agree with your list. Jack Buck and Dan Kelly are legends in our area. Both of their sons are really good to.

Dan Kelly was the voice of the NHL for years. He did 16 stright Stanley Cups from 1969 - 1988 and was the one who had the moniker of "He shoots, He scores".

Both of Kelly's sons are TV and Radio personalitities.

Dick Enberg also called the Angels and Rams and UCLA basketball games for years.

Scully is a much-loved institution in Los Angeles. (You could literally sit in Dodger Stadium and listen to his voice coming from thousands of transistor radios. The joke was he had to tell the Dodger fans what they were seeing.)

For basketball: Chick Hearn who was the voice of the Lakers.

Scully was great doing NFL football back in the day too.

Lot of great baseball announcers you could listen to at night on powerful AM radio stations, e.g.,

Bob Prince for the Pirates 1948-75

Ernie Harwell for the Tigers 1960-2002

Herb Carneal for the Twins 1962-2006 on WCCO

Marty Brennaman for the Reds 1974-present

and of course Jack Buck [1954-2000] for the Cardinals on KMOX

No problem with that list, but there should be Hon. Mention for Red Barber, Marty Glickman and Doc Emerick. (Also, when I'm down in the dumps, I turn the sound off on StL Cardinal telecasts so I can listen to Mike Shannon's radio call). And what about "Touch....Down.......Ar...eeee...zo....nah?"

You know.. I really don't care about the announcers as much as others do.. Unless they are just annoying.. And when I say annoying I mean like the ex NFL QB that had the lisp.. Forgot who exactly that was, but that lisp drove me up the wall..

I will say though.. I enjoy listening to NBA games with Hubie Brown.. He has good insight and perspective..

I. Think that is Musberger.:D
And I think it's " You are looking live at..."

I know it is Brent M. I am saying that he will never be as good as Keith was. Maybe I didn't express myself clearly.

Milo Hamilton. Summer won't be the same without Milo calling the Astros games on the radio.

Jack Buck was great too. Used to listen him on KMOX here at night on my car radio. Sounded like this: "There's a ground ball to short. Ozzie has it.." bzzzzzz, crackle, static laden Spanish dance music, then, "and that's it for the Reds in the 4th". It was awesome.

Yes, the Spanish dance music mixed in was a classic. We could get that in PA at night as well.

Since it is sort of off-topic at the moment, is there an ASFN equivalent (or at least close) for the baseball Cards that anyone can recommend?

... Cosell/Gifford/Dandy Don...
You just reminded me - Mongo (i.e. Alex Karras) was part of the Cosell MNF team before Giff and Dandy Don. He was the best (because he was an ex-player).

The thing that cracked me up about Frank Gifford was that, whenever he forgot the first name of a player, he'd always refer to him as "Ron."
