Terrion Arnold was arrested on Wednesday night for kidnapping and armed robbery charges, and the Detroit Lions cornerback could face a life sentence in prison if convicted. However, his fellow NFL cornerback, Sauce Gardner, took to social media to vouch for his innocence.
“Terrion Arnold is a good kid and this situation shouldn’t define him. He’s young…His daughter just got brought into the world. What his daughter gon’ do without her dad in her life?” Gardner wrote on X.
“Me knowing how much of a good/caring person he is makes it hard to believe because he’s not the type of person to do these things y’all are reading about,” he ended with a prayer emoji.
The authorities arrested Arnold on four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery in connection with a February incident in Tampa, Florida. Before this, the Lions cornerback had built a sterling reputation and had no known prior legal issues.

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold (6) speaks to media members after practice during mini-camp at Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Terrion Arnold has voluntarily turned himself in at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County on Wednesday evening, and his felony charges could carry a life sentence. The Detroit Lions cornerback is being held without bond and is due in court on Thursday.
As soon as he surrendered to the authorities, Arnold’s camp released a statement through his agent, Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, who categorically denied any involvement of his client, who was named as the primary conspirator, in the February incident.
“Terrion Arnold categorically denies any involvement in the matters underlying the allegations made against him and maintains his innocence. There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations. Instead, the government appears to be relying on testimony from multiple convicted felons who have admitted their own involvement and may have substantial incentives to shift blame in an effort to lessen their sentences,” White wrote.
“Mr. Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident that the judicial process will lead to his ultimate vindication,” the statement ended.
As of this writing, the Lions have yet to comment on the matter. But by the looks of it, there’s a huge possibility that Arnold’s NFL career could be over.
