That didn't take long.
After being officially released by the Denver Broncos with a post-June 1 designation on Thursday morning, linebacker Dre Greenlaw quickly agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The one-year deal is worth $7.5 million.
Greenlaw (6-0, 230 pounds) should feel right at home with the Niners, the club that picked him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Arkansas. Following six seasons in San Francisco, Greenlaw signed a three-year, $31.5 million contract with Denver last spring. The signing didn't work out as the 28-year-old linebacker missed nine games in 2025 (eight due to injury and one due to suspension).
The Broncos designated Greenlaw's release as a post-June 1 cut as a procedural move to create more salary cap space. Denver saved just over $8 million by moving on from the linebacker, who now reunites with his former club.
