LeBron James is making the most of his offseason, and his latest golf clip made him look far more than a casual weekend player.

The Lakers superstar went viral after draining a difficult birdie chip over a bunker, then reacting like he could barely believe the ball had dropped.

For a player whose NBA future is still being watched closely, the timing was perfect. LeBron looked relaxed, competitive and completely hooked on the challenge.

LeBron James golf birdie chip leaves fans stunned​

Legion Hoops shared the clip after James posted the shot from his Instagram story during a weekend round of golf.

The setup was not easy. James had to lift the ball over a bunker, land it softly and watch it track toward the hole for birdie.

Once it dropped, his reaction said everything. LeBron shouted in disbelief, celebrated the shot and looked like someone who had just unlocked a new part of his athletic obsession.

James has shown more interest in golf in recent years, especially during offseason windows when his schedule finally slows down.

There have been clips of him taking swings, practicing and even hitting balls in more relaxed settings. He has not been known as a polished celebrity golf regular, but the improvement is obvious.

Fans noticed that immediately. Some joked he could go pro after basketball, while others said he and Stephen Curry might have a second prime on the course.

Lakers future still hangs over LeBron’s golf summer​

The golf clip arrived at a fascinating point in James’ career. He is 41, coming off his 23rd NBA season and facing another major decision about what comes next.

There is uncertainty around whether he returns to the Lakers, retires or looks at a new destination. Golden State has also been mentioned in speculation because of the long-running dream of pairing LeBron with Curry.
