It’s no secret that the NBA’s leading scorer, LeBron James, is beginning to age for a high-profile athlete.
Still, with the 41-year-old averaging 20 points per game, there isn’t any real sign of James slowing down other than injury.
However, after debuting his new look on Instagram, it’s possible retirement is seriously on the horizon for the aging superstar.

While out on the golf course, presumably enjoying the offseason, James was photographed sporting a pepper-like gray beard as he was dialing in for a putt.
These photos eventually spread across the NBA’s social media landscape, with fans also embracing James’ new look and questioning whether the Los Angeles star should keep the gray.
As for LeBron James, while he is on his social media appearing calm, cool, and collected for a round of golf, behind-the-scenes rumblings have already begun about whether he and his agent, Rich Paul, will seek a large extension from the Lakers.
“LeBron and his agent, Rich Paul, are reportedly going to ask for the max from the Lakers and want to know how the Lakers plan to spend that money if they are offering less, which is really a complicated way of saying they want to know what the Lakers’ plans are.” said Kurt Helin of NBC Sports.
With no clear plan in place for the Lakers and James’ extension as it currently stands, it’s a legitimate possibility that LeBron becomes available for another team to inquire about this summer.
Sure, he isn’t the same game-wrecking player who’s dominated the league for over two decades, but he’s still LeBron James.
On the right team, especially a potential championship contender, he could very well be the missing piece to get over the hump and hoist a Larry O’Brien trophy.
For now, fans will just have to enjoy the star’s social media posts until a contract decision is made, but after seeing how relaxed James appears on the green, he may be ready to enjoy life outside the league full-time soon.
