LeBron James is now officially a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Sunday, July 26 that James officially signed his two-year contract with the 76ers.
The deal is worth $8 million and includes a 15% trade kicker, sources told Charania.
James' free agent decision was weeks in the making. According to James' agent Rich Paul, the Akron native was down to the 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat.
After spending much of the summer in and around his native Akron, James chose Philadelphia, citing a chance to win another NBA title.
James will suit up alongside young guards V.J. Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey and veterans Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid, giving the Sixers a formidable starting core.
After failing to get a third stint the James, the Cavs pivoted by reportedly signing Spanish league MVP Mario Hezonja.
