More on LeBron James: Recent HoopsHype Rumors
LeBron James has kept his cards so close to the vest, that not even his own son seems to know where he will go. The elder James remains a free agent as a handful of prominent NBA teams continue to vie for his services this summer, and it's unclear when a decision might come. His oldest son, Bronny, recently was approached on the street by Instagram creator biggy22x, who first asked James to share a message to the youth before then asking the pressing question Warriors fans wants to know: Is his dad going to Golden State? "Man, I don't know where he's going," Bronny said laughing. "That would be crazy if he did." — 7/23/2026 NBC Sports Bay Area
ESPN Cleveland: "But I'm telling you, the people who I'm talking to, who are the players, the coaches, the executives, the owners, they don't know,"- @WindhorstESPN with the latest on LeBron James' free agency. — 7/23/2026 x.com
Dillon Brooks on the viral meme of him laughing at LeBron James from the stands: What’s funny is I got a ticket [for the game] from Rich Paul…. It’s a good meme. He was talking to a LA fan, he was like ‘I know you throwing shade at me. I know, I know.’ So I’m looking at him like ‘oh my god he’s really worried about this fan right here? You’re down 3-0 now.’ I’m just cracking up. I’m telling my agent on the side ‘damn he’s really focused on the wrong sh*t right now.’ — 7/23/2026 YouTube
Heat Central: Bill Simmons TAKES SHOTS at the Heat fans/media and hopes LeBron joins Miami: “There’s two reasons I think it’d be fun if he went to Miami. One, I think it’s a terrible fit. Two, their annoying fans and even more annoying media will be going nuts that they think they’re going to win the title and it’s going to be really fun to watch that crash and burn. If he goes there, great. It’s THE most annoying media. They know it. That’s the only way they get attention.” Via @BillSimmons — 7/23/2026 x.com
LeBron James could sign with the Miami Heat since the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are not interested in acquiring Anthony Davis from the Washington Wizards, sources told Dallas Hoops Journal. — 7/23/2026 Dallas Hoops Journal
Klutch Sports Group, led by Rich Paul, thought it would be “super easy” to get the Cavaliers or Warriors to trade for Davis, sources said. Since that’s not the case, the Heat have emerged as the leader to sign James since Miami doesn’t have to trade for Davis. The team already has Antetokounmpo and Adebayo and strong role players in Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell, Bobby Portis and Tim Hardaway Jr. — 7/23/2026 Dallas Hoops Journal
That said, Anthony Davis is no guarantee to stay on the floor either, so it'd be understandable if the Warriors aren't all sold on adding him to the mix. As far as I've heard, there aren't any other teams pursuing LeBron that have interest in Davis either. That should come as no surprise given that Davis has appeared in just 47 games per season since winning the 2020 title, his jump shot has abandoned him, he isn't the all-world defender he was in his prime, and he still doesn't want to play center. — 7/23/2026 Yahoo! Shaquille O'Neal is weighing in on LeBron James’ NBA destiny. The retired athlete — who played eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers from 1996 to 2004 — addressed James’ decision to leave the California-based team ahead of his unprecedented 24th NBA season. “Go where you can win, LeBron. When it’s over for us, it’s over,” O’Neal, 54, exclusively told the California Post in a new interview. — 7/23/2026 New York Post
Chris Bosh on LeBron James: I’ve said it before, if I were him, I don't know where he's going. You know, we haven't spoken, but if I were him, I'd go to Miami. And I was joking around. I actually posted this on social, what, I think yesterday. But I was just joking around saying, "Hey, you know, when you're older, when you're ready to retire, you go to Miami." — 7/23/2026 YouTube
On 92.3 The Fan's Baskin and Phelps show, Cleveland radio host Andy Baskin revealed what a source shared about James' free agency decision. "Here's what I was told yesterday about the whole LeBron situation. Last week, LeBron's crew was probably ready to make an announcement, especially because they were in New York," Baskin said. "The world had their eyes on New York because of the World Cup as well. "They were probably comfortable making an announcement as early as last week. And then, people were telling them what to do. There's a little bit of irritation… Irritated was the word I was told, by the commissioner pushing them…so they decided to hold back." — 7/22/2026 Yahoo! Sports
