The Los Angeles Lakers battled the Minnesota Timberwolves deep into Wednesday night leading to a 81-80 T'Wolves lead entering the fourth quarter.

The Lakers got 25 points from Luka Doncic and 17 points from LeBron James as they battled back against a game Timberwolves squad in the City of Angels.

As the fourth quarter dawned in Los Angeles, former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III decided to share his thoughts on James, issuing a challenge to him in what many fans thought could be his final game in the National Basketball Association.

"LeBron James has to take over this game if the Lakers are gonna force a game 6," Griffin III wrote on X.

"Luka is banged up and can barely move. You want people to say you are the GOAT? Show it now and take over the game," Griffin III said about the 40-year-old Lakers superstar as the fourth quarter entered the early hours of Thursday morning.

The Lakers struggled to stop Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert all night as he easily posted up and boxed out players including Doncic and Rui Hachimura en route to the Wolves' 10-point halftime lead in Los Angeles.

LA stormed back with 31 points in the third quarter to 22 for the T'Wolves.
