Latham, Stucky pick up titles at Monon Conference Meet

The running events of the first ever Monon Athletic Conference Meet were completed on Friday night at Southmont High School.

Field events were delayed until Saturday morning due to the rain.

The Stars claimed conference titles in both the boys and girls meets.

On the boys side, Jaden Latham swept the hurdles titles. He won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.44 seconds, then claimed the 300-meter hurdles in 41.46.

On the girls side, Charlotte Stucky won the 3,200-meter run title with a time of 12:31.14.

Also scoring for the boys: Malaki Christy placed third in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.40 seconds and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles in 45.69, Brennen Bivens placed fourth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:09.13, Isaac Threlkeld placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.95, Nate Thompson placed sixth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.03, Eli Bishop placed seventh in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:11.23, and Micah Farris placed eighth in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 18.28 seconds,

The 4x800 relay team of Biven, Bishop, Brayden Schick and Aiden Lester placed fourth in 8:43.95. The 4x400 relay team of Christy, Bivens, Threlkeld and Thompson placed sixth in 3:43.45. The 4x100 team of Latham, Thompson, Threlkeld and Christy placed eighth in 49.55.

On the girls side: River Roys placed third in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.66 and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.04, Kate Higer placed fourth in the 400 in 1:04.98, Stucky was fifth in the 1,600 in 5:58.52, Alexa Massingill placed sixth in a time of 13.78 in the 100-meter dash, Taylor Princell placed sixth in the 200 in 29.05 and seventh in the 100 in 13.94, Abigayle Humphrey placed seventh in the 3,200-meter run in 13:34.30, and Joan Gearheart placed eighth in the 800 in 2:44.98.

The 4x800 team of Gearheart, Claire Torp, Lyla Kinsler and Higer placed third in 10:52.48. The 4x100 team of Roys, Jada Sanders, Massingill and Princell placed third in 53.23. The 4x400 team of Roys, Gearheart, Torp and Higer placed fourth in 4:31.35.
