Last-place Canadiens fire coach Martin (AP)

Jacques Martin has been fired as coach of the last-place Montreal Canadiens. The team said Saturday that assistant Randy Cunneyworth will be the interim head coach for the rest of the season. The Canadiens are 13-12-7 in the Northeast Division. Cunneyworth and general manager Pierre Gauthier are to hold a news conference later in day at the Bell Centre.
