Do the Cards get the national attention of Seattle? Pitt? Pats? Cowgirls? Of course not... However, the NFL is BY FAR the most popular pro sport in this country. And the Cards get their share of attention, if only because of the fantasy football craze....
My entire family (which is huge - I'm Italian) still lives back east. Believe me, when (not if) the Cards surface in a conversation, the vision/face that pops into their heads is Fitz. For many, they can still recall his post season run in 2008/2009.
And, if Peterson is able to produce at the level his talent seems to suggest he should, then yes, his ascension to the face of the team would be quickened and comprehensive. But, if he struggles and/or, if the separation between him and Sherman, or others, becomes crystal clear, while Fitz puts up a huge season, I would expect the brakes to be put on the PP face of the team express....

I'll put the images on the AZCards website over your psychic evaluations of your family. Fair enough?

For being touted as the Cards' best offensive player, Fitz has got to stop running the wrong routes which he still does after a year in BA's system. Now that is very troubling.

Why? That's because lots of the routes Fitz runs form the slot are timing routes so Palmer has to throw to spots before Fitz makes his cut or gets there. Palmer does not have the luxury (that darren urban mistakenly believes) of waiting until the receiver gets open before passing or not passing to a spot where the receiver is suppose to get to, even in lots of traffic to catch the ball which is what BA expects of Fitz with his reputed "great hands" to out duel the defense for the ball.

If Fitz cannot run his routes without continuing to run the wrong routes, he is clearly no longer the Cards' most important offensive player and instead will again help the opponents pad their interception totals.

You missed my point... which is: I agree with you that the Cards might be moving in the direction of thrusting PP into the position as face of the team.
However, just because the Cards might desire this change-over, doesn't mean that it will instantly take root. For now, I am quite positive that most of the NFL fan-base across the country still views the face of the Cards as Fitz, regardless of what the team puts up on their website (a site that the vast majority of the NFL fan-base never see...).
Further, the players still need to perform. PP will need to establish his credibility as not only worthy of being the face of the team, but worthy of being the highest paid CB in the league. Should he not do that, while Fitz re-established himself as a leading WR by putting up a huge season, I think the Cards will be fighting an uphill battle in terms of their attempt to thrust Peterson into the role of "face of the team"...
