Larry Fitzgerald was the third overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2004 NFL Draft from the Pittsburgh Panthers. He played for Arizona from 2004-2020. Fitzgerald is going to be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio this upcoming summer.

He was one of the best wide receivers of his generation. Fitzgerald had 1,000 or more yards receiving nine times in his NFL career. He caught 1,432 passes for 17,492 yards receiving and 121 touchdowns in his career. Fitzgerald averaged 12.2 yards per catch and was targeted 2053 times in his career. He also played in 263 career games for Arizona.

There is a reason why Fitzgerald is a first ballot hall of famer. He produced big time on the field. Fitzgerald made the playoffs a few times in his NFL career. When they were in the Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Fitzgerald caught seven passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns, along with averaging 18.1 yards per carry. Had Arizona won that game, he no doubt would have been Super Bowl MVP.


Nathan Jahnke of profootballfocus.com named Fitzgerald to the all Cardinals offensive team over the last 20 seasons. He also has Anquan Boldin and DeAndre Hopkins as some of the best wide receivers who have played for Arizona over the last 20 seasons. Jahnke said about Fitzgerald making this team,

“Eight of the other offensive players on this roster were once Murray’s teammates, even though Arizona’s best offenses arguably came in 2008 and 2015. Those seasons coincided with some of the best years of Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald’s career. Fitzgerald was one of the easiest selections on the roster and the common link between all three quarterbacks.”

Not only was he an amazing player on the field, but he was also a great player off the field as well and was tremendous in the community. Fitzgerald is probably one of the greatest Cardinals offensive players of all-time.
