Lady Vols win gold medal in 200 medley relay

Tennessee's women's 200 medley relay team earned a gold medal in day two of the 2026 SEC Swimming and DivingChampionships Tuesday at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatics Center.

A team of Mizuki Hirai, McKenzie Siroky, Ella Jansen and Camille Spink set a record in the event as the quartet posted a time of 1:32.80, breaking the previous best mark in both program and SEC championship history. The Lady Vols finished nearly a full second ahead of second-place Alabama.

The victory earned the Lady Vols their first gold medal of the meet. It was Tennessee's 10th gold medal in program history and its first since 2020.

The men's 200 medley relay team finished in sixth place on Tuesday. A team of Ulises Saravia, Gabe Nunziata, Gui Caribe and Nikoli Blackman recorded a time of 1:22.48, the fifth best time in program history.

Lady Vols' freshman diver Desharne Bent-Ashmeil earned a spot in the A final of the one-meter competition. She recorded a score of 295.80 and finished in fifth place. Lynae Shorter finished 18th and Emma Rhines came in 22nd.
