Shohei Ohtani continues to etch his name in the record books with yet another masterclass, as the LA Dodgers star earned his 300th homerun.

Ohtani’s homerun came at the bottom of the first inning, as he dispatched of Michael Lorenzen’s pitch with a 409-foot hit.

And while the homerun marked a personal milestone for the Japanese ace of MLB, he also managed to make some history.

Shohei Ohtani becomes first MLB player with 300 HR and 100 stolen bases in first 9 seasons​

With his hit, Shohei Ohtani not only marked the 300th homerun in his MLB career, but also became the first player in history to have 300 homeruns and 100 stolen bases in his first nine seasons in the league.

Coming into the game against the Rockies, Ohtani had 171 stolen bases, so all he needed to achieve this statistical record was to notch his 300th home run.


Ohtani has been one of the most dominant players to enter the MLB in recent memory, with the Japanese star cementing himself as the best in the world after back-to-back World Series wins.

And with his stat now in his back pocket, Ohtani’s case for being one of the MLB’s greatest two-way players of all time just grows stronger.

Shohei Ohtani aiming for an LA Dodgers threepeat​

After World Series wins in 2024 and 2025, Ohtani and the LA Dodgers are looking for a historic threepeat this season.

The last MLB team to achieve this feat were the legendary New York Yankees, led by Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.

Ohtani could help the Dodgers become the third MLB team in history to threepeat as World Series winners, and it would make them the first team to threepeat across American sports in 24 years.

The last American sports team to achieve this feat were the Dodgers’ city mates, the Los Angeles Lakers, led by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.

And with both teams now under the ownership of Mark Walter, the Dodgers could bring back a third World Series to the City of Angels.
