Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis has had a difficult postseason. After averaging 19.5 points in 42 regular season games, the 7-foot-2 Latvian averaged just 12.0 points in Boston's opening round series against the Orlando Magic.
The Celtics were able to defeat Orlando in five games, but the lack of production from Porzingis was concerning entering an Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the New York Knicks. Things have only gotten worse for Porzingis, as an illness has limited both his production and availability in Round 2.
With Boston facing an 0-2 deficit, Porzingis has been utilized for just 13.4 minutes per game.

Porzingis was open with reporters about the challenges he is facing with this illness. In an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, ESPN's Shams Charania reported this issue is related to a virus Porzingis dealt with in March that cost him eight games.
Despite this, the Celtics announced on Friday that Porzingis will be available for Game 3 against the Knicks. The 2018 All-Star took to his Instagram story for his first post since this news.
As Boston attempts to climb back into this series, the effectiveness of Porzingis will be a big storyline. While he was only able to appear in two of Boston's four wins against New York in the regular season, Porzingis averaged 24.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in those games (h/t StatMuse).
This level of production would be a game changer for Boston as it lines up against Karl-Anthony Towns and New York's lengthy frontcourt players.
