SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Friday marked the second of three group stage matches in the 2026 world cup for the USMNT and once again Krav’n hosted a watch party.
Despite the brief rain in the afternoon well over 250 USA Soccer fans attended and were ready and proud to cheer on the squad.
Once again the first goal for Team USA was thanks to an own goal, but that didn’t stop the crowd from popping loudly and a little over a half hour later, Alex Freeman would score to make it 2-0 where it would stay as the Americans clinched a spot in the Knockout Round.
One fan talked about what he loves most about these watch parties and urges those who haven’t attended yet to stop by.
“This is not my first experience at a watch party, but it is in Sioux Falls, but what brings me out here is the same as a lot of other fans, we want to see USA win so I would say don’t miss the next one, definitely go to the next one,” Heber Marroquin said.
That “next one” is set for Thursday, June 25th at 9:00 p.m. when Team USA plays their final group stage matchup against Turkey and of course, Krav’n will be back with their big screen watch party.
Another fan in attendance said that these events bring everyone together.
“I have been to a couple (watch parties) before. I have the Outlaws scarf from, I don’t remember if it was one World Cup ago or maybe even two, but this is my kids second one…It’s something special when you’re all cheering for the same team and not like a Packers versus Vikings kind of thing,” Alec Van Hove said.
