Knicks superfan Ben Stiller vows to never wear ‘stupid final shirt’ after wild reaction from his wife

Ben Stiller joked about taking extreme action after the Knicks’ first NBA Finals loss, blaming his Game 3 outfit for bringing bad luck.

The longtime Knicks supporter was back at Madison Square Garden before Game 4, still processing San Antonio’s 115-111 win in Game 3.

That loss cut New York’s series lead to 2-1 and ended the perfect Finals start that had the Garden believing the title drought was almost ready to break.

Ben Stiller burns Knicks finals shirt after Game 3 loss​

NBA Base shared Stiller’s reaction after he joined the Inside the NBA crew before Game 4.

“My wife Christine and I came home after the last game and burned the clothes we were wearing. I’m not ever wearing that stupid final shirt that I was wearing.”

Stiller was joking. The shirt in question was the black commemorative finals top handed out at Madison Square Garden before Game 3.

After the Knicks lost at home, Stiller decided that look had to go.

Knicks Game 3 loss sparked Ben Stiller’s fan reset​

Game 3 was painful because New York had a chance to take a 3-0 series lead over the Spurs.

Instead, San Antonio held on behind Victor Wembanyama and cut the series deficit, forcing Knicks fans into a more nervous Game 4 mood.

Stiller has been one of the most visible celebrity fans during the run, joining names like Spike Lee and Timothée Chalamet courtside throughout the postseason.

After reports of tension involving fans outside MSG, Stiller posted that being a Knicks fan does not mean being disrespectful to Spurs supporters.

That mix of panic, humor and perspective explains why Stiller fits this Knicks run so well. He wants the title badly, but not badly enough to keep wearing a shirt he believes cursed the night.
