This is why we can't play the bench with a 20 point lead and 7:00 left. They would blow it. The lead is down to 10 already in the short time that the starters have been out. The Suns will win because there's not enough time to blow the whole 20 point lead...

Definitely dont agree. Maybe if you focused on Banks only, but there is very little threat of our bench can blow a 20 point lead if they get enough time to get their chemistry together. With Curry and Randolph out, there is very little risk of a Marks/Skinner backcourt in the game for 5 minutes.

The argument gets cyclical if you consider our bench will never get better if they dont get to play more often.

Why did DA have to play Pike out there? He was abused by the athletic players of the Knicks all night long. Banks should have played more and the rooks should have gotten some court time.

Thank you DCF for the stream feed! :)

you can't play the bench because no one can run DA's "system" except for Steve Nash.

Banks was -9 and flat terrible in his 5 minutes.

Piatkowski was +2

Some of you guys seriously need to lighten up about us playing the 10th-13th men. I understand that you guys may want to see the rookies, but our bench did play.

In fact, Grant Hill's 36 minutes was the highest out of our starters.

Pike is saying that D'Antoni is trying to give him a chance to earn rotation minutes. I guess D'Antoni recognizes our need for another 3 point shooter.

DA is going 9 deep this year
He went 9 deep today(Should have been 10 if Raja wasn't injured)

It's not that bad as last years

The real stories of the game (not not playing the rookies):

Amare looked fantastic. He had good speed and nice hops.

Hill can make 3 point shots when he is open. Hill made smart decisions with the ball all night.

Diaw still is a PG playing Center.

Skinner continues to play well here. He isn't Kurt Thomas but he is a very cost effective option.

The -9 is not really Banks fault in those garbage time. His only shot was an in-and-out, and he had a turnover passing out of his only drive. That's not enough to be made responsible for that -9.

OTOH, Pike was abused out there. In particular in the final min. of 1st quarter, the Knicks ran up the score by one-on-one against Pike to keep it close.

man, I wish we could have a) kept JR for that reason or b) realized this before the season to try and get a sharpshooter. Putting Pike out there is bad news for an already very suspect defensive team.

Man, TT was the perfect extra shooter/big man for what's a "we're just gonna outshoot/score you team. Such a bad move lowballing him.

True to all. Most importantly, despite it being only the Knicks, Amare showed that all he needs is to be healthy. When healthy, the defensive attention is also there for positioning and rebounding, even blocking.

Am I gonna be the first to say it? Is having less Raja out there, maybe better?
I'm not necessarily taking a stand either way, just bringing it up.

ALL good points. However...Diaw is a PG playing Center that at times looks inexplicably like he doesn't know the offense after playing in it for 3 years now. He's awful AND soft.

Absolutely.

Either JR or Tim Thomas would be better options than Pike.

No. Having less good players playing on the other team is better.

Raja playing would not have hurt the Suns tonight.

Not really
We didn't face a team with good G's yet in the last 2 games

No because that means more minutes for Pike and Banks :)

I was thinking more barbs. This is a much deeper team than 2 years ago when raja was so important. Remember, he was brought in as a reserve (when we had joe).

When he is out there w/ amare, there really seems to be a clash.
