Oscar's numbers were insane. I'm always amazed that someone could average a triple double for an entire season.

About Marbury. Steph was always more of a SG in a PG's body. I hated when the Suns traded Kidd for Marbury, but I became a bit of a fan by the time he left.

Wow he has been a little wacky all offseason too. Did you guys see any of the crazy interviews? I am just curious why Zeik is not starting him that just sounds silly. Like DAntoni saying we gonna start Banks, but nothing is wrong with Steve.

Yeah they have been playing alright which makes this move even more confusing! What is going on between Isiah and Marbury I think is the real question, sounds personal.

Marbury has a really high career assist average for a player generally regarded as a shoot-first point guard. There has never really been any doubt about his ability to produce. But he has poor leadership skills, a big ego, and just doesn't seem quite right in the head, to put it frankly. A perfect fit for NY, if I may add. Honestly though, I cannot think of a situation where he could be part of a winning team. In the 2.5 years he spent in Phoenix, we missed playoffs twice. Coincidentally, those were the only two times we missed playoffs since 1988. He did however make one of the greatest shots in Suns history back in 2003 playoffs, I'll give him that.

As for the game tonight, that Suns need not make it an adventure. We are home and NY are in disarray. No Marbs, no Randolph, no QRich, and not sure what the status of Curry is. If Curry plays, he might have a big game though.

Marbury added he was not expecting to join the team in Los Angeles tomorrow night.

I was thinking about writing a big, long post about Stephon Marbury, how he was never really a selfish player, just self-willed without the smarts to lead a basketball team the way Kidd or Nash can, that he always wanted to win and was haunted by his inability to do so, how he doesn't have anybody around him that, after an interview where nobody knew what he was talking about would look him in the face and say, "What the f$%k is going on with you?", etc. etc. I was going to write a post about how he has been misunderstood.

But, the truth is, the guy is a headcase, a nut, would likely be classified as medically ********, and he appears to be getting worse every day.

The Knicks suck with or without Stephon Marbury, and if they don't have Q Richardson or Zach Randolph, they don't have any chance of beating the Suns tonight. Still, if you are Phoenix, it is not a good thing that the Knicks won't have Marbury in the starting lineup tonight.

What people like to forget is he is like the 5 time NBA's most charitable player. He started a shoe company specifically to get good basketball shoes to kids who otherwise couldn't afford them.

I always liked Marbury, even though the teams weren't great when he was here....he played his ass off and I always respected him for that. Like Sanders said, the guy has his heart in the right place too. I hope that if he is having family problems or any other issues that everything works out for him. If the Knicks end up buying him out, I would love to see the Suns bring him in for the min for a run this year.

I came :thisclose: to liking the Suns when they had Amare and Marbury.

I even attended a Suns/Spurs playoff game and cheered for the Suns (of course, I wanted the Spurs to lose and not face the Lakers, but hey I shelled out money for that!).

i appreciate his charitable nature, but you can't have seen his work this offseason and not think he's a little insane. something's not quite wired right, at least not now . . .
