Brunson scored a game-high 36 points, along with five rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Anunoby had his best performance of the Finals, finishing with 33 points and four rebounds, including the game-winner. Karl-Anthony Towns, who dealt with early foul trouble, contributed a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double.
The Knicks are now just one win away from securing their first championship in 53 years. They will look to end it in Game 5 at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. Anunoby, Brunson and Co. will also host Game 6 at MSG if they fail to get the job done on Friday and could win the title in front of their fans.
The Spurs must move on quickly from Wednesday’s defeat. Inexperience showed its ugly head in the fourth quarter, missing easy shots and even free throws. They now have their backs against the wall and will need to win three consecutive games. It’s not impossible and has been done before.
