Not sure I agree with this. His 7 seconds or less essentially begat modern basketballKJ had been a finalist in past years, though his support fell off some in recent votes. But with pretty light competition this year, I have to think both he and Stoudemire have a pretty good shot. I would take both over Blake Griffin. I think Buck Williams and vet committee pick Marques Johnson are both likely, too.
As for D'Antoni, it's interesting to note that he's nominated as a "contributor" and not as a coach, which probably helps his cause. I assume they are noting him for his contribution in the European leagues more than the US. Strictly speaking, he's not a HOF worthy candidate just based on his NBA coaching career.
I take it the other Suns guys didn't make the cut?

This makes me very happy. I didn't think he'd ever get in despite clearly having the accomplishments.Shams Charania

Amar'e Stoudemire, Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne and Doc Rivers are among the members inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026, sources tell ESPN.
Based on his last playoff series before microfracture I can only imagine was those next few years would’ve been like without injuries.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Man, this is worth watching for a reminder of what we had. A surprising number of power dunks in a Knicks uniform too. We should have never traded him.
