That was a good read, I don't know much about Webb but he does seem like an intelligent guy who recognizes his mistakes and areas that he needs improvement. I wonder how much of a project he will end up being. Will a year sitting be enough?

Mahomes, Kizer and Webb are the best fits for BA's offense. BA would have to recalibrate the offense for Watson, Trubisky and Peterman and make it more West Coast with QB pocket shifts.

True, but I think that both the QB' s and the staff could make the adjustments to make it work. DJ is a great example at RB at how the philosophy can adjust. I like some mobility in today's QB's, todays game demands it, imo.

Arm strength also increases once your in the NFL, or at least should. The other intangibles are more of what creates successful QB' s in the league. We have the advantage/luxury right now for them to learn and grow. I will be disappointed if the FO doesn't take advantage of this window.

Watson would be a no-brainer pick.

Turns out that as I post this, they've got Gruden on TV.

Can't argue with Gruden that Watson is special and has a great body of work.

But what impressed me most is that he'll do whatever it takes to win. I understand the "doesn't fit with BA" argument and would be surprised if he's still there at #13. But if he was, it would be hard not to draft him.

Kyle Boller could throw it 75 yards, from his knees...Wouldn't have wanted him as a QB. Not so sure I think this Webb kid is any better than Boller.

Rodger's is an all time great. It's far more likely that Webb is another Air/Bear Raid QB that amounts to nothing in the NFL. The success rate of that system for quarterbacks in the NFL is 0. Goff should get a pass for now considering he played for Jeff Fisher.

Webb has the arm and size the Cardinals like so if they want to take a chance in the 4th or 5th I'd be cool with that. If someone's going to use a 2nd or 3rd on a guy and hope he breaks the mold of quarterbacks that come from a system that doesn't work in the NFL let someone else waste that pick. As much as I like Mahomes ability I feel the same way about him in the early rounds.

This is pretty convincing argument, especially when you look at the names. I also wonder if the game plan the Clemson OC drew up had more to do with Watson success against Alabama than Watson himself. Maybe the Clemson personnel matched up favorably against Alabama. There are a lot of factors that go into success or failure against opponents.

Based on Prisco's chart drop Webb & Mahomes because it appears the may throw too hard. Actually this is likely a wildly speculative article. If it were really this simple .....

Jeff, when you consider leadership and success on the biggest stage, Watson is the most reliable QB in the draft. By far. Jordan Palmer, Watson's QB coach (yes, younger brother of the Carson) has been working with Watson on his deep ball trajectory, and he threw some great deep balls with plenty of air time at his pro day. As for his mobility, he's better than average...but what I like about him is that he doesn't have jumpy, panicky feet in the pocket.

In my opinion, Jeff he is this year's Dak Prescott---poised, ready and determined.

Jetstream---I would be surprised if Watson is still available at #13. But if he is---I think the Cardinals will take him. If he isn't, and Mahomes is, they will take Mahomes. If both are taken, the Cardinals go with BPA. Just a hunch.

not to mention the pack run a huge amount of their offense through the shotgun..... most nfl coaches try and take a QB like A-Ron and force him to play under center all the time.

Completely agree with that. Makes me wonder what could have been if we drafted Carr.

he does... but regardless of what he showed at the combine,...watching the tape proves his deep ball accuracy is seriously lacking.

At the NFL level those are picks.

SF does not seem logical. The others maybe. Watson is my #5 QB.
