Lady Vols basketball freshman Deniya Prawl will be back at practice, coach Kim Caldwell said.
The 6-foot-2 guard did not travel with the team to the SEC Tournament because of a concussion. After Tennessee's loss to Alabama on March 5, Caldwell said Prawl was in concussion protocol after Lauren Hurst "clocked her in the head" in practice.
When Caldwell met with reporters March 16, she expected Prawl to return to practice that day.
"She should be back today in practice," Caldwell said of Prawl. "And then Janiah (Barker's) a little banged up, she'll be limited today. Other than that, everyone's full go."
No. 10 seed Tennessee (16-13) will face No. 7 seed NC State (20-10) on March 20 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN) in the first round of March Madness in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A win would match the Lady Vols with No. 2 seed and host Michigan (25-6) or No. 15 seed Holy Cross (23-9) in the second round on March 22.
Prawl has been a solid piece of the rotation for Tennessee. Prawl has averaged 3.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and a steal in 15.4 minutes per game while shooting 40.4% from the field.
The Toronto native, was a five-star recruit ranked No. 17 in the 2025 class. She's one of three McDonald's All-Americans in Tennessee's freshman class along with Mia Pauldo and Jaida Civil.
Barker has been one of Tennessee's top producers this season, averaging 14.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 46.5% from the field and and 36.5% on 3.9 attempts from 3-point range.
Barker has started in 21 games and missed one game this season. The 6-foot-4 senior forward did not travel with the team to Oklahoma due to not meeting team standards, but returned the next game.
