Clayton Badida, Cordion Abernathy and Nathan Seth were the regional champions for Conner while Zaq Abdi, Keaton Dicken, Luke Peace and Landon Wuellner finished in second. Grandin Blackburn, Joesiah Hernandez, Mason Masteller and Bryce Sizemore also qualified for the state tournament.

Abernathy, Badida and Dicken are former state placers with Badida having three state placements already on his record.

State champion Blevins reaches final tournament

Simon Kenton senior Braydan Blevins will again wrestle in the KHSAA state tournament three seasons after winning a state championship as a freshman.

In 2023, Blevins won the 106-pound state championship, beating Harrison County's George Dennis 7-4 in the state final. Blevins' shot at a repeat fell short of making the podium in 2024, but he managed a fifth-place finish at 126 pounds last season.

Blevins is still at 126 pounds, advancing to the state meet after a runner-up finish in the regional tournament. Blevins fell to Badida 8-4 in the championship match and has a 52-7 overall record.
