With training camp drawing closer, we will be highlighting the one big question that faces each of the Jacksonville Jaguars' position groups.

Up first are the quarterbacks, a unit that features Trevor Lawrence, who is coming off a 2025 season in which he was an MVP finalist.

So naturally, the question front of mind here is: what's next for Lawrence in 2026?

Trevor Lawrence in Year 2 of the Liam Coen offense

The continuity of being in the same system for a second offseason can often be the catalyst behind a Year 2 jump. Rather than learning an entirely new scheme, which was the case for Lawrence and the Jaguars' offense last season, he can now build upon what's already been established, diving deeper into Coen's playbook.

And with that, Lawrence is a lot more confident and comfortable with what's being asked of him.

"A lot calmer," Lawrence said during offseason programs. "A lot more confident in my progressions and what I know about the system. When I get on the grass, it's a lot less thinking. So I think that's the biggest thing: I can react, play faster, I can work on some different things in my game because the focus isn't as much on what to do or what's the play call and what are all the adjustments."

Throughout the offseason, Coen has been impressed with Lawrence's ability to take care of the football, along with his willingness to push the ball downfield.

Coen has also taken note of Lawrence's operation of the offense pre-snap. When the Jaguars' offense made their second-half surge in 2025, Lawrence's command of the huddle and at the line of scrimmage, specifically getting the offense into favorable looks, was a big part of that success. He has seemingly picked up where he left off.

Along with Lawrence's continued growth within the system, another area of emphasis this offseason has been on building his chemistry with his wideouts within this system.

"I'm pleased with Trevor's spring," Coen said. "Absolutely."

As good as Lawrence was down the stretch last season, there is still room for more growth in Coen's offense, and all early signs this offseason point to him taking another step. Carrying that momentum over into training camp is next on the to-do list.
