#Raiders to release Kevin Burnett, who was not cleared medically

If he gets healthy, I would take him over Ernie Sims in a heartbeat.

Burnett has officially been cut.

When D-Waste decided he wanted to become a story of failure, I look over the 32 teams in the NFL for possibilities that would offer a chance to get a vet ILB whom was solid in coverage.

The Raiders have one too many big money linebackers, starting with Kevin Burnett. Burnett is going to be replaced by a player named Sio Moore, and the Raiders by cutting Burnett free up some cap space.....not like they need to tho.

Point being ? Burnett would be a very good pickup for the Cardinals, and would help, at least a little bit, with pass coverage. Its not like he is great, but he is better than what we got.

Not sure what the ankle injury is, but I could not imagine its that bad.

Is Sims still a Cardinal? (kidding, but). . .

Haven't heard Sims being mentioned since he reported back in the spring. In interviews the next ILB Arians mentions after Minter and Foote is Kenny Demens.

So, hell yeah, bring in Burnett and cut the dead weight.

He was really good with the Chargers couple years back. Made me mad when we let him go.

I know this guy has had issues, but I've always been a fan and he would be the best ILB, easily, for the Cards if he got his head screwed back on and it sounds like he may have. This excerpt is from John Clayton and his camp observations:

5. Could Rolando McClain be the surprise of the summer? Early word is the Cowboys think they got a steal in McClain, who came out of retirement and was traded by the Ravens to Dallas. Alabama coach Nick Saban told the Cowboys that McClain has gotten his mind and body right. He has done a few good things at the beginning of camp. The Cowboys are desperate to replace injured Sean Lee at middle linebacker. McClain could be a real find.

Not according to Charley Casserley, who says that he just can't play the game at the NFL level.

Casserley has been wrong for so long that I turn down the volume whenever I see his mug on the screen.
