Key Performers Shine BrightTeonni Key was undoubtedly the star of the game, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Her ability to drive to the basket and create opportunities for herself was crucial in keeping Kentucky ahead throughout key moments of the game.

Clara Strack also delivered an impressive performance, contributing 18 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Strack's defensive presence under the rim made it difficult for West Virginia to score inside, while her offensive efforts helped maintain Kentucky’s momentum.

Tonie Morgan added valuable support with 15 points, showcasing her versatility on both ends of the court. Together, these players formed a formidable trio that led Kentucky to victory.

Game Highlights: A Rollercoaster RideThe match began with West Virginia hitting a three-pointer to take an early lead. However, Amelia Hassett quickly responded with a three of her own to tie things up at 3-3. After some back-and-forth scoring that saw both teams exchanging leads, Key’s layup gave Kentucky a slight edge at the end of the first quarter—20-15.

As we moved into the second quarter, Key continued her hot streak by scoring early and extending Kentucky's lead to seven points. But West Virginia wasn’t going down without a fight; they launched a comeback with a quick 9-0 run that tied the game at 30-30 before halftime ended in another tie at 36-36.

The third quarter showcased more intense action as Asia Boone hit back-to-back threes that helped propel Kentucky ahead by as much as 14 points. Yet again, West Virginia clawed their way back into contention with sharp shooting from beyond the arc.

The final quarter saw tensions rise as both teams fought tooth and nail for every point. With under two minutes remaining and Kentucky clinging to a narrow lead of just one point (72-71), Morgan stepped up with a clutch jumper that pushed them ahead by three.

West Virginia made things interesting by sinking two free throws late in regulation but couldn’t capitalize on their final possession when their last-second shot rimmed out as time expired.
