The Kentucky Wildcats volleyball team nearly completed a dream season in 2025, and are looking to have another huge year in 2026. The start of the season is still some months away, but they were able to announce some exciting news on Monday.

The SEC and Big Ten have announced a partnership for a battle on the court between the conferences similar to the ACC/SEC Challenge in basketball. The matchups will take place between Sep. 1 and Sep. 6 and will feature two matches at Wrigley Field, historic home of the Chicago Cubs. In one of those matches, Kentucky will face off against Penn State.

The Wrigley Field event will feature three national champions with Nebraska taking on Missouri and Penn State battling Kentucky. The matches will mark the first time volleyball has been played at Wrigley Field, creating a unique experience for teams and fans alike and adding a new chapter to one of the most recognizable venues in sports.

The matchup will feature two of the last six national champions, and will be a rematch of last season's early battle that Kentucky won 3-0. It should be an exciting match with a tremendous atmosphere.

The match with the Nittany Lions will be on Sep. 6. The first match of the event will be on Sep. 2 against the UCLA Bruins. Tickets will become available for the event starting on Apr. 9.
