Former Kentucky Football star Josh Hines-Allen has added another honor to his career after being named to Pro Football Focus’ SEC All-Decade Team as one of the conference’s top edge defenders.

Hines-Allen, formerly known as Josh Allen during his college career, was recognized alongside former Alabama standout Will Anderson Jr., with the duo standing out as the SEC’s premier pass rushers over the last 10 years.

According to PFF, Anderson posted the highest overall grade among SEC edge defenders at 91.6, while Hines-Allen ranked second at 90.6. The two are also the only SEC edge defenders to record more than 30 sacks over the past decade.

Hines-Allen’s remarkable career helped lead Kentucky to a 10-win season in 2018, which was the third in program history. While being recruited in high school, Hines-Allen was only a two-star recruit and finished his career with 224 tackles, 41 tackles for loss, and a school-record 31.5 sacks, surpassing Oliver Barnett’s previous mark. His dominant senior season cemented his legacy as one of the greatest defensive players in Kentucky football history.

Selected seventh overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2019 NFL Draft, Hines-Allen has continued his success at the professional level. He owns the Jaguars’ franchise record for career sacks with 61, has earned two Pro Bowl selections, and signed a five-year, $150 million contract extension in 2024.

From an overlooked recruit to an SEC legend and NFL star, Hines-Allen’s career remains one of the greatest success stories in Kentucky football history.
