Kentucky football was predicted to finish 14th in the SEC in a preseason poll voted on by members of the press who attended SEC media days in Tampa, Florida.

Two Wildcats were also named preseason All-SEC selections. Offensive lineman Lance Heard made the second team, while tight end Willie Rodriguez was named to the third team.

Kentucky is led by first-year head coach Will Stein, who was hired in December. He was Oregon's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2023-25.

Last season, Kentucky went 5-7 overall and 2-6 in conference play, with wins coming against Auburn and Florida.

The Wildcats will open their season Sept. 5 at Kroger Field against FCS program Youngstown State. UK will see its first Power 4 and SEC opponent the following week when it hosts Alabama.
