The Kentucky Wildcats are set to have big changes to the roster for the third straight offseason, after a disappointing year where they spent a lot of money and got little return. With an expected change in philosophy, there will be turnover on the roster.
The first of those dominoes fell this week with the announcement that Jaland Lowe was entering the portal. More announcements and departures are expected to follow, possibly including players Mark Pope and the Wildcats would prefer to keep.
As players leave, Pope and his staff will have to replace them with quality players. Kentucky fans demand better, so how next year's roster is assembled will be huge. They have to find the right pieces to get the program back on track.
With so much expected turnover, fans will want to keep track of who is in and who is out. Follow along with this for all the updates of the changes as they happen.
Jaland Lowe - There was a great deal of anticipation when he was signed from Pitt. His ability to score and pass both had him set to be one of the roster's major pieces. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury before the season started basically ended those dreams, and he never got going, eventually having surgery to end his time in Lexington.
Otega Oweh - With his eligibility exhausted, Oweh is likely off to the NBA. He developed into a star with the Wildcats, and will be missed. Replacing him will not be an easy task for Pope.
Denzel Aberdeen - Also a senior, Aberdeen was given the tough task of playing the point guard position despite not being a natural at it. He performed better than anyone could have asked, and kept the team from comletely falling apart.
Jayden Quaintance - All of Big Blue Nation knew Quaintance was gone after the season, but were hoping to get one dominant season from him. His knee never got healthy, though, and he missed the entire season outside of a handful of minutes. He's a likely first round draft pick.
Mason Williams - Kentucky has struggled to recruit in the 2026 class, but got a recent commitment from point guard Mason Williams, the son of former NBA player Mo Williams. He's a four-star recruit with a lot of potential.
Braydon Hawthorne - A late addition last offseason, Hawthorne took a redshirt season, but has already stated he is returning to the Wildcats. Things can change, but he plans to stick around.
Reece Potter - Another redshirt from this past season, Potter has great size, and could find himself in the frontcourt rotation next season.
Finley Bizjack - At Butler, Bizjack developed into a solid scorer with an improving three-point shot. Reports are that Kentucky is interested, and he could become a terrific option off the bench.
Camren Hunter - Another scoring guard, Hunter averaged over 20 points per game for Central Arkansas last season. He's also a good shooter who Pope is rumored to be interested in.
Miles Bird - Kentucky had good luck with the last San Diego State product they brought in, and they could be looking at another. Bird is a Defensive Player of the Year with a developing offensive game.
