Kenneth Walker hints at Chiefs' game plan in 2026 originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

The Kansas City Chiefs went after Kenneth Walker this offseason in an attempt to bolster their run game, which last season wasn't good.

With Walker in and Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt out, the Chiefs' rushing attack will look vastly different from the one we saw last season.

And that should mean a big uptick in production. Well, that's the hope anyway. But for those who have watched Walker in his career, know that he's more than just a running back. He can be a receiver too.

And according to Kenneth, the Chiefs plan on utilizing that part of his game in 2026.

"We've been working on getting connected in the passing game and everything, so that's good," Walker said on the Up & Adams via NFL.com. "I feel like I'll be used more in the pass game."

No Chiefs running back had more than 172 receiving yards in 2025, and it was Brashard Smith who led the way. In 2025, Walker posted 282 yards by himself.

So, there is clearly a need there that Walker can help with, and in his last three NFL seasons, he's had over 250 receiving yards in each.

Not to mention the playoffs, where Walker had 104 receiving yards from nine receptions, so he can clearly be a receiving option in Kansas City.

And going by Walker's comments, Andy Reid sees the potential in Walker to be a dual-threat weapon in 2026.
