Kendrick Perkins believes Kevin Durant stands alone when it comes to scoring the basketball.
The former NBA forward made a bold comparison as he assessed Durant’s place among the all-time greats.
The praise arrives as Durant continues to climb the NBA’s scoring charts, recently surpassing 32,000 career points.
The milestone has reignited debate about where he ranks among the greatest scorers in league history.

Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, Perkins did not hesitate when asked to define Durant’s legacy as a scorer.
“He is the greatest scorer to ever play the game of basketball. The greatest scorer,” Perkins said.
“When you talk about a guy that has zero flaws, he’s Beyonce on the offensive end. He’s flawless.”

Perkins argued that other elite scorers throughout history have had identifiable weaknesses. In Durant’s case, he sees none.
“When you talk about career points in the NBA, we could point out in each individual that they had some type of flaw,” he added.
“Because when I think about the greatest scorer, not only do I think about what he could do on the offensive end and how he has no holes in his game, but I also look at efficiency. And when you talk about a guy who is Mr. 50/40/90, that’s Kevin Durant.”
Durant recently became only the sixth player in NBA history to reach 32,000 career points.
He now sits on 32,038 and needs 254 more to pass Michael Jordan and move into the top five on the all-time scoring list.
While LeBron James remains far ahead at the top, Durant’s consistency continues to strengthen his legacy.

Durant struck a reflective tone when asked about the achievement postgame.
“I mean, just to be mentioned in the same category as some of the greatest athletes of all time, not just basketball players, greatest athletes of all time,” he reflected.

“I’m just honored and blessed and grateful for all the people who invested in me along the way. It’s been a long journey, and I’m looking forward to keeping it going, but it’s pretty cool.”
The reaction contrasted with Perkins’ bold assessment, yet both underline the same reality.
Kevin Durant remains one of the most complete scorers the NBA has seen, and the numbers continue to back the argument.
