Kelsey Plum reportedly agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Sparks on a one-year, $999,999 deal, ESPN’s Shams Charania reports.
Plum, 31, could have signed a supermax contract worth $1.4 million, according to Charania. But she decided to give the Sparks financial flexibility as they build their roster for 2026.
Plum was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks last offseason as part of a multi-team deal, returning to where she grew up in southern California. Last year, the 31-year-old averaged 19.5 points, 5.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals.
However, the Sparks missed the WNBA playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, finishing with a 21-23 record.
Plum previously spent six seasons with the Las Vegas Aces, where she was a four-time All-Star and won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023. She also won the Commissioner’s Cup with the team in 2022 and was named WNBA Sixth Player of the Year in 2021.
The 5-foot-8 guard was drafted by the San Antonio Stars, who later relocated to Las Vegas and became the Aces, with the No. 1 overall pick out of Washington in 2017. During her eight WNBA seasons, she has scored 15.1 points per game with 2.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists, while shooting 38% on 3-pointers.
