After we drop 5 in a row why not see what we got?

Also can we please see if Bradley can play or not? He was one of the most improved players in the preseason, give him a chance...

While I'm bitchin, run Powell all ready!

With you on the Powell and Bradley thing for sure. Makes no sense whatsoever. Even if it is just to rest LSH and Lenon for some plays let these guys in the game.

LSH is too small to take the pounding(shouldn't have to) and Lenon just hasn't been very good.

I'd like to see Bradley take a crack at OLB too. I thought Powell has already shown he should be getting more snaps, so I'm already confused there. I would like to see Byrd replace Doucet on the field too. As far as Kelemete. It's DEFINITELY time to dress him and get him on the field......... (maybe when his jersey is shown more, you guys will realize there's no "N" in his last name too :p)

Bradley cant be any worse than Lenon, why the heck not.

Not that I trust the judgment competencies of those who make the Oline decisions, but there has to be a reason why Kelemente inst playing already. With garbage Snyder out, Rich Orangeburger is in. I thought he did OK in the GB game. Id like to see Kelemente.

I wouldn't mind trying Kelemente at this point. The OL is pathetic anyway including both guards.

While I think he needs to be replaced sooner than later, most tight ends can outrun his position. He is a thumper, not a dwash style. He should have never been the one responcible for that coverage because he cannot do it.

He is slow but that was not him... where were the safeties? We cannot expect him to sprint and out run many at this stage of his age/career. He does a more than adequate job as a ILB. Sure he can be upgraded and should be soon but he is doing ok and least of our concerns right now.

Manti Teo

Thumper + Brilliant + Class + Speed.

Sure tackler. Fast. Very instinctive and usually right. Highlight plays. Leader.

Him + Dwash makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I've always wondered why that is. The linebackers and TE's have the same 40 times. The LBs are usually around 6'2 240 and the TE's 6'4 250 so the TE's would have a height advantage but shouldn't be any quicker.

He's such a player maker that were getting gashed for 150 yds a pop each week on the ground

We paid Bradley big $$$ & he played pretty well in preseason, it's time to get him in IMO

Interesting side note: following the Cardinals' recent history of ineptitude defending TEs, after the arrival of Horton things have got a LOT better. I don't know whether other sites track defenses' performance vs. specific positions, but my FFL site, CBS Sportsline, does. Until last week vs. the Packers the Cardinals were the #2 defense vs. TEs and this week they fell to #3 (based on my league's scoring system). Here are the raw per-game numbers:

Code:
Rank	Team	Tar	Recpt	ReYd	ReAvg	ReTD	FL
1	CLE	6.44	3.56	39.11	11.0	0.22	0

3	ARI	4.78	2.67	38	14.20	0.33	0
3	JAC	7.88	4.62	44.25	9.60	0	0
5	DAL	6.12	4.25	37.38	8.80	0.38	0
6	SD 7.12	4.38	46.38	10.60	0.12	0
6	NO 6.88	4.50	53.50	11.90	0.12	0.12

27	NYJ	7.62	5	58.12	11.60	0.75	0
28	NE 8.62	6.25	65.62	10.50	0.62	0.12
29	CIN	7.75	5.62	62.12	11.0	0.62	0
30	DEN	8.50	5.25	64.12	12.20	0.75	0

32	WAS	9.56	6.56	70.44	10.70	0.78	0

Interestingly, opposing TEs have the lowest number of targets vs. Arizona than vs. any other team. Somebody must be doing something right.

...dave

P.S. Will someone PLEASE change the thread title to properly spell Kelemete's name? This is getting almost as bad as with Leinart.

So all 150 yards was on Lenon? What about our first round run stuffing DT Dan Williams? Our high ends Dockett and Campbell? Our OLB's?

Tough to stuff the run when you're not in the game.

Not All Lenon's Fault

As I understand this, the defensive coverage was Horton's call. Lenon's duties were to jump right on the TE if he came out instead of staying to block. Lenon got caught looking in the backfield and reacted too late to TE going out into coverage. Aaron Rodgers later stated that he saw the lack of safety coverage and called for the TE to be the hot receiver. It worked like Rodgers thought it would. Rodgers outsmarted Ray Horton.

Maybe the coaches think Lenon is fast enough because, in practice, he can stay with Todd Heap :D.

I've never jumped on the Lenon bandwagon and think ILB is, and has been, a huge need. I would love Tae'o if he's available when the Cards pick. The only person I would take above him is Tyler Wilson and it'd be a hard choice at that.

In the GB game when things were still close enough, there was that short yardage toss play out into the right flat from Skelton to the Hyphen that should have gotten us a TD. However, Massie mysteriously blocked his man into the Hyphen’s feet and he gladly tackled the Hyphen for a loss and no points. That showed me that Massie had no clue where the play was to go and just mindlessly blocked his guy. No wonder Massie dropped from being a possible star linemen to being a role player on his college team and all of the other NFL teams who passed on Massie understood he was not worth a high draft pick.

As for Kelemete, hopefully Russ Grimm has not completed his effort to transform Kelemete from a quick footed offensive tackle into Grimm’s heavy, slow run blocking NFL prototype guard. In college, Kelemete had great success in protecting and giving Jake Locker time to pass and achieve college greatness. Kelemete was also recognized for his good work with all Pac12 honors. Before he was converted to the offensive line, Kelemete was a defensive lineman so he must also have that nasty streak you need in the NFL trenches. The NFL scouting report noted that he could be a tad short to be a NFL offensive tackle and that his technique needed to be improved. Hopefully, his quick feet are still there and his technique has improved from since OTAs and training camp.

I really hope the Cards look outside of their offensive linemen box (it hasn’t been working, agreed?) and give Kelemete a shot a right tackle. What’s the worse that could happen? Well, he might be as bad as Brandon Keith or Massie. And then he could show that he is a gamer and play a lot better.

I would hope if the Cardinals were put in that position, they would take Te'o and then use their 2nd rounder and future picks to trade back up into the first round for Tyler Wilson. Jarvis Jones is another player where I would hope the Cardinals would be able to see their good fortune and make the moves to add two big impact players.

That would THE dream scenario.
CBS sports draft guys must be down on Wilson. Neither of them have Wilson going in round 1 in their latest mocks. They are the only I see having him slipping into round 2. I can't see that happening. If guys like Gabbert, Ponder, and Locker are top 10 picks, no way is Wilson a 2nd rounder.

Well, you run into an interesting scenario where several of the bottom 15 teams have no real need for a QB. You can argue Atlanta, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, NY Giants, SF, Seattle, New Orleans, Chicago, Green Bay, Detroit, Dallas, Denver, Cincinatti, and Miami all could draft after Arizona and would not take a QB in the first round which is 15 teams. If we drafted 10, then there would only be 7 teams who might take a QB and would draft after us. This year could be the year where QBs slide as their are a ton of pass rushers, OTs and DL who are top 15 talent and fills needs for those top 10 teams who also need QBs. I think a bunch of teams will view the possibility of taking a Sam Mongomery and then a EJ Manuel as a better option than Matt Barkley and Dallas Thomas.
