Over the weekend, Texas softball first baseman Katie Stewart became an all-timer. In UT's sweep of Kentucky, Stewart bashed her 24th home run of the 2026 season, breaking the program’s single-season home run record.

Stewart tops Texas' previous single-season home run record of 23 set by Reese Atwood in 2025. Over the weekend the Illinois native went 5-for-10 with two home runs, including a grand-slam in the top of the seventh of a 6-1 win in Game 2.

The two-run record breaking homer came in the top of the sixth inning in Game 3 against the Wildcats. The Longhorns would go onto win in an 11-2 run-rule victory in six innings.

The defending national champion Longhorns are 38-8 overall and 15-6 in SEC play. UT is in a fourth place tie in the SEC and are ranked No. 6 in the nation by Softball America. The Horns are tied with Texas A&M, and both rivals sit behind Oklahoma, Alabama and Florida.

Texas has one regular-season series left. UT will host Arkansas this weekend.
