Karl-Anthony Towns on Dominican Republic WBC loss: 'Some [expletive]'

After a controversial call on the final pitch, Team USA eliminated Team Dominican Republic in the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic.

Many, including the batter Geraldo Perdomo, were upset by the ball-strike decision that eliminated the dominant Dominican Republic from the tournament. Among those frustrated was New York Knicks star big man Karl-Anthony Towns.

Towns, who is from New Jersey but represents the Dominican Republic in FIBA competition because that's where his mother Jacqueline Cruz-Towns was from, spoke to reporters after his game last night:

While wearing a Marty Supreme jacket because he was talking the same night as the Oscar's in Los Angeles, the six-time All-Star big man discussed the baseball game:

"Hell yeah, that was a ball, man ... That's some [expletive]. D.R. should have had a chance. We had Fernando Tatis Jr. coming up, bro. Come on, man. That was a ball as hell."

When one of the reporters said it was a strike, Towns told him that he only said that because he was an American.

It was a funny, good-natured back and forth exchange that clearly showed Towns' legitimate pride in his Dominican heritage.
