Bayern Munich winger Lennart Karl was allowed to kick a ball again on Tuesday as he continues his comeback from the hamstring injury which ruled him out of the World Cup.
A club statement on Tuesday said the 18-year-old took the next step in his recovery at Bayern's training ground together with birthday boy Serge Gnabry, 31.
Gnabry also missed Germany's ill-fated World Cup campaign due to an adductor tear in his right thigh in April.
Full pre-season training for those not injured starts at Bayern on Monday.
The double winners' first competitive game of the new season is the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund on August 22.
