The Houston Texans won't have Jawhar Jordan back for Monday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they'll be bringing back arguably their most efficient defensive back for a winner-take-all showdown.

Second-year cornerback Kamari Lassiter, who was dealing with a foot and knee injury, is expected to start opposite All-Pro Derek Stingley Jr. against the Steelers on Monday Night Football. Lassiter was a scratch in the regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts in order to get healthy for the postseason.

Even after being limited in practice, the former second-round pick told reporters earlier in the week that he would be cleared to go for kickoff against the No. 4-seeded Steelers.

“Feeling good,” Lassiter said Thursday. “I'm ready to play.”

Lassiter has been dealing with the foot injury since early December. Even though he was hurt, Lassiter played through the pain, but also aggravated his ankle in Week 17's win over the Los Angeles Chargers. When healthy, one could argue that Lassiter has been the best No. 2 cornerback in the sport and would even be considered a top guy on most rosters.

This season, Lassiter only elevated his play from a promising rookie campaign. In 16 games, he leads the Texans in pass breakups (17) and is tied with Calen Bullock, Jalen Pitre and Stingley for interceptions (4). Lassiter has also recorded 91 tackles and three tackles for los.

Kickoff from Acrisure Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN.
