Some teams seem to be ready-made for NFL prospects leaving college. Whether it be a position of need, a gap on talent, a scheme fit, or a combination of all the above, some players fit a certain franchise like the final piece of a puzzle.

Former Iowa Hawkeyes running back Kaleb Johnson, the 2024 Big Ten Running Back of the Year, has a fit like that in the NFL draft, which is just days away.

With Johnson coming off a career year that rewrote records at Iowa, he will be a hot commodity for NFL teams looking to bolster their backfield.

ESPN's latest NFL mock draft has him going to the San Francisco 49ers in what is a match made in football heaven with their unique zone run scheme that is so similar to the one Johnson blossom in at Iowa.

Johnson is predicted to go No. 75 overall to the 49ers and be a vital weapon in their offense.

The move would pair Johnson up with one of the most beloved Iowa players in the NFL, 49ers tight end George Kittle. The move would give the 49ers and former Iowa State quarterback a weapon in Johnson who can run behind Kittle in the run game or open things up for him in the play-action passing attack.
