Fight promoter and social media influencer Jake Paul might be eyeing his next sports venture after getting knocked out by former boxing world champion Anthony Joshua.
When appearing on The Pivot Podcast, Paul claimed that he could play wide receiver in the NFL. However, there was one caveat with his proclamation: he doesn't believe he could play on the outside, like star wideouts Justin Jefferson or Ja'Marr Chase.
If Paul went to the NFL, he sees himself playing in the slot, like former New England Patriots legends Wes Welker and Julian Edelman.
"Yeah, 100 percent," Paul responded when asked if he thought he could do what Welker did. "He's the perfect example. I cannot do Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase. Those are different-level athletes than me. I'm talking about white guy, Wes Welker."
And that wasn't all.
While further explaining his reasoning, Paul mentioned that Welker was "ten times better" than Edelman was in the NFL.
"Wes Welker is even like ten times better than Julian [Edelman]," Paul said.
Welker was an incredible player, but Edelman was one of the greatest playoff receivers in NFL history. Only Jerry Rice and Travis Kelce have more receptions and yards in postseason games. Edelman also has three Super Bowl rings.
"Julian Edelman is an absolute monster," Ryan Clark responded.
One way to settle all of this is by WWE setting up a tag team match featuring Edelman and Tom Brady against Jake and Logan Paul. Making Wes Welker the special guest referee would be the cherry on top.
