Julian Alvarez’s future is in the spotlight again with the rumor mill getting very excited about where the Argentina international will play his football next season.
An update from El Chiringuito claims that Arsenal and Atletico have already agreed a deal for Alvarez. The Gunners are willing to pay €50m and throw in striker Viktor Gyokeres to land the 26-year-old.
Reporter Jota Jordi also says that Atletico CEO Gil Marín has already called Joan Laporta to tell him that Alvarez is not for sale.
However, that’s not enough to stop Barcelona from trying another offer, per Sport. The Catalans are reportedly ready to bid €135m for Alvarez after the World Cup.
The offer would also include a series of variables that could take the total transfer fee to €150m.
Barcelona remain convinced Atletico will eventually be willing to negotiate a transfer but believe they will have to wait until Alvarez’s involvement at World Cup 2026 is over.
