Arsenal are not giving up on their desire to land Julian Alvarez and are said to be “ready and willing” to make their move as soon as the Argentina star indicates he’s interested in a move to north London.
The Gunners are confident that “personal terms and an agreement with the Spanish club will not be an issue” as Atletico would much rather sell to a Premier League club than Barcelona, according to TEAMTalk.
Sporting director Andrea Berta has been “maintaining regular contact with the Argentina international’s representatives” and is ready to pounce if Alvarez does give up on his Barcelona dream.
Arsenal are also said to be willing to smash the “current British transfer record” to sign Alvarez but are now waiting for a final decision from the striker.
Atletico remain adamant they won’t sell to Barcelona and would much prefer to sell Alvarez to Arsenal but the forward remains determined to sign for the Catalans.
Barcelona have already made an offer to Atletico, which Joan Laporta says will expire at the end of the month, meaning this saga could soon be finally heading to a conclusion.
