Seattle Seahawks star wide reciever Jaxon Smith-Njigba has more history in his sights for the 2026 NFL season.
According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, Smith-Njigba stated after the team’s training camp practice on Sunday that his goal is to play even better in 2026 than he did last season as the 2025 AP Offensive Player of the Year.
“I want y'all to see a different level,” Smith-Njigba said.
Smith-Njigba led the NFL in receiving yards last season with 1,793. That was also the eighth-most receiving yards recorded by a player in a single season in NFL history. Smith-Njigba became the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history this offseason with the four-year, $168.6 million contract extension that he signed with Seattle in March as a result of his groundbreaking year in 2025.
It will be quite the task for JSN to top that in 2026. He is positioned to be the Seahawks’ No. 1 receiver once again next season with the same receiving corps from last season in tact in Seattle to compete with for targets.
